Jesus said: “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” – Matthew 11:28
We see the works of God all around us in nature. But even His wonderful creation can't speak to us about the way to heaven. That way is found through faith in God's son, Jesus.
"...faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God"
Romans 10:17
The idea of personal sin and guilt before God has gone out of style in our day. Yet the Bible - and our own consciences - agree that we are not right with God becuase of our sin.
"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God"
Romans 3:23
Jesus will come again, and we need to be prepared!
"Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching"
Hebrews 10:25
Man can know the true God and the way to eternal life only through the Bible. The Bible reveals to us Jesus, who says, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life” (John 14:6). Therefore, everything that we believe and teach at Faith Lutheran Church is drawn from the Bible. Below are some of the fundamental truths that the Lord has revealed to us through his Word.
A church which exists to proclaim, preserve and spread the saving truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, so that the redeemed of God, both here and elsewhere, may learn to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior and to follow Him through this life to the life to come.
A church which values faithfulness to the Word above any seeming organizational advantage.
A church that believes the Bible is God's eternal Word, that it contains no errors or 'myths.'
A church which fosters Christian unity by combating error through the revealed truth of the Bible.
A church which has but one Master – Christ – and bows to no human authority or tradition in matters of faith.
A church which believes that faith in Jesus is the only way to heaven. Good works, prayer, and holiness of life are the fruit of faith in Christ, but never the cause of faith or salvation.
A church which believes faith is strengthened and matures by using the Gospel in Word and Sacrament.
A church which offers a personal ministry to people as individuals, according to their need.
A church which gives priority to Christian education on all levels.
A church which seeks people in order to serve them.
A church that holds the common faith that unites us, and we wish to share it with others.
A church which wants you to know the joy of complete pardon and peace through Christ.
A church which motivates its people to exercise their influence in matters of social concern as individuals, according to their Christian judgment.
A church which resists every effort to make of it a political pressure group.
